 MEET KIRSTEN

One of Kirsten Baer’s talents as a designer is her ability to collaborate, turning projects into an enjoyable partnership, and providing her with the power to elicit individual clients’ aesthetic and style preferences. She enjoys working with architects, contractors, and builders, and is as comfortable discussing architectural and structural details as she is selecting fabrics and furnishings.

Kirsten began her education at Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology and the New York School of Interior Design, and has been in the business for over 25 years. Early on, Kirsten learned the design field inside and out while apprenticing with a prominent designer at an upscale furniture store. She moved on to a top design firm in Summit, New Jersey before founding KB Interiors in 2005. After moving to the Chicago area a few years ago, Kirsten began working on projects of every size—from small bathroom renovations, to large-scale rebuild projects.

Kirsten’s diverse portfolio includes projects in Manhattan, The Hamptons, Texas, St. Louis, North Carolina, and Sonoma, California.

Kirsten is quick to point out that she doesn’t have a singular aesthetic—other than an instinctual talent for creating a feeling of newness in a space. She has an ability to envision a space’s potential—deriving as much joy making an existing space feel new again, as she does designing an entire house from scratch.
